Capability Statement

Pollards operates from two locations, Cairns and Townsville. There are fifty employees including WTIA certified welders and various metal trade professionals. Pollards operates its own fleet of trucks, including a b-double tandem trailer with a 60 tonne capacity.

Pollards is structured into two production divisions:

  1. High-Volume Steel Manufacturing.
  2. Hot Dip Galvanizing.

Galvanizing

Hot Dip Galvanizing zinc kettle dimensions are 9300 X 1500 X 2000 (l*w*d), supporting structural steel assemblies up to 15000mm long.

The heaviest section that can be raised is 10 tonne.

The galvanizing plant has a capacity of 1000 tonnes per month.

Manufacturing technology at Pollards disposal includes:

  • 6.1 Metre by 500 Tonne, 5 axis CNC Press
  • 21 MIG Welders
  • Section rollers
  • Thread Cutting machines
  • Centre Lathe
  • Milling Machine
  • Radial Drill
  • Undercover Workshop Floor space 14000 x 23000 x 7000 height clearance:
  • 1 off Overhead Gantry twin hoist 2T SWL
  • 1 off Overhead Gantry twin Hoist 10T SWL
  • 1 off Overhead Gantry single hoist 3.2T SWL
  • 1 off Overhead Gantry single hoist 2T SWL

The above capabilities and assets allows Pollards to specialise in High-Volume Galvanized Products i.e. Bridge Rails, Pole Nails, Light Poles, Hold Down cages, Sign Posts, Guard Rails, Noise barriers e.t.c.
